A BIOGRAPHY OF SALAUDDIN AHMED
Salauddin Ahmed is a highly accomplished architect from Bangladesh, known for his contemporary designs. With a background in both fine arts and architecture, Ahmed’s education includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Architecture from Portland State University, and a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.
He sharpened his skills by working for celebrated architects Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown, as well as through his time with the Urban Planning Department in Portland, Oregon. Currently, he is the head of his own architectural firm, Atelier Robin Architects in Dhaka, where he sits on the Executive Board of Bengal Institute and leads the Curatorial and Design Program.

Early Life
Born on 1st January, 1956, Salauddin Ahmed lived a peaceful and happy life. His upbringing was in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. He studied at BAF Shaheen School and College Dhaka. Among 10 siblings he was 8th. His father was a businessman. All of his brothers were and are businessmen.
Education
Salauddin Ahmed is a highly accomplished architect from Bangladesh, who began his journey in the field with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Portland State University in 1992. In the year 1996, Salauddin received a scholarship from his school in Philadelphia that too him to Japan for 3 months.
Later he achieved a degree in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 1997. He further developed his skills by working with renowned architects Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown and gaining experience in the Urban Planning Department of Portland, Oregon.
Before establishing his own firm, he also worked for the reputed architectural firm Saiful Hoque Sthapati for a brief period. In 2001, Ahmed established his own firm, Atelier Robin Architects which is situated in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Career
After completing his study and returning to Bangladesh, he started teaching as a part-time teacher. Many universities reach out to him for teaching. He taught for 7 years at the University of Asia Pacific. Also contributed his time to BRAC university and North-South University. Other than that he attended many seminars and sessions to share his knowledge. He founded in 2001 Atelier Robin Architects which is a firm where his position is as the lead architect and principal.
