Mustapha Khalid Palash, also known as Khan Mohammed Mustapha Khalid, is a renowned Bangladeshi architect known for his contemporary designs. In addition to his architectural work, he is also a talented artist, musician, and painter. He is the editor of DOT: Journal on Art & Architecture, a well-respected architecture magazine in Bangladesh and founder of Vistaara Architects.

Early Life
Mustapha Khalid Palash was born on September 11th, 1963 to an artist family named Afroz Mustapha and K.M.G.Mustapha. His birth and adulthood was in Dhaka Bailey road. He has a brother named Shimul Mustapha.
Education
He studied in Siddheswari Boys’ High School and BAF Shaheen College. He graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1988. He then taught at the same university until 1998. Additionally, he served as a visiting faculty member for architecture at multiple universities. These institutes are the University of Asia Pacific, AIUB, North South University, BRAC University etc. He received training on Architecture under the grant by famous Architect Tadao Ando in 1995.
Career
Palash is a famous architect known for his modern and experimental style. He has won many awards for his work and is currently working on several big projects, including corporate buildings and hotels. He mostly focuses on building in his city, Dhaka, and incorporates the city’s unique features into his designs. He is considered one of the top architects in the country and has participated in many architectural events both locally and internationally.
Palash, along with his team and company Vistaara Architects, has built many impressive buildings in Dhaka, Bangladesh over the past 20 years. He studied architecture at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology and then started his own company in 1994. He left his job as a professor in 1998 to focus on his business. Palash is attached to several professional organizations, including the Institute of Architects Bangladesh, the American Institute of Architects, and the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. He is also the current leader of the Architecture Alumni Association of BUET.

Visual Art
Palash is an architect who also enjoys painting. He has had two solo painting exhibitions in the past. One in 2009 called “Of Conflict and Harmony” and another in 2011 called “Of Tears and Joy.” He has been interested in art since he was a child because his mother and father both were painters. He grew up in an environment surrounded by art and began to develop his own artistic visions and ideas.
Palash uses art to express his emotions. When he is sad, he uses paint and brushes to explore his feelings and create art that reflects his mood. He doesn’t focus on one specific theme, but all his paintings are connected. He uses oil and acrylic to create different designs and shapes, often inspired by nature. He has the freedom to develop his own unique style and wants to create a signature style for his work.
Personal Life
Mustapha Khalid Palash is a fickle person. He loves to collect antique pieces like cameras. He loves singing and mostly sings RabindraNath Tagore’s Songs. He married Shahzia Islam Anton, who now is the Trustee and holds the position of General Secretary at Delvistaa Foundation. They are happily married and together they have two sons- Khan Noirit Mustapha, Khan Ishaan Mustapha.
