A BIOGRAPHY OF PROF. DR. RASHIDA BEGUM

Prof. Dr. Rashida Begum is an OB/GYN and Fertility Specialist and founder of Infertility Care and Research Centre (ICRC). She is one of the flag bearers of this field in Bangladesh. She is regarded as one of Bangladesh’s top infertility experts in Dhaka. With a fellowship in gynecology and obstetrics, Prof. Dr. Rashida Begum is also a highly skilled medical professional. She finished her FCPS and MBBS degrees. Clinical Embryology FCPS degree from the UK earned by Dr. Rashida Begum.

She obtained her Masters at the University of Dundee (UK). From the University of Leeds, she also earned an MSc in clinical embryology (Uk). She eventually receives her Ph.D. from the same university. Patients at the ICRC are now receiving medical care from Prof. Dr. Rashida Begum. It is situated in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, on Humayun Road. At the Infertility Care and Research Center, she meets patients on a daily basis.

Early Life and Education and Career :

After earning her degree in medical science in 1982, Dr. Mst. Rashida Begum went on to obtain a residency in obstetrics and gynecology in 1994. From the University of Dundee in the UK, she received a diploma and a master’s degree in medical education in 1997 and 1999, respectively.
She began her adventure with infertility management after receiving comprehensive training in ART and infertility from the UK and Singapore. She earned her MSc in clinical embryology from the University of Leeds in the UK in 2006.
She has been employed in this industry since 2002 and is highly competent. Thousands of couples have had children as a result of her care to this day. She is also a committed researcher. She got the Young Scientist Award from the Asia Oacenia Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOFOG) in 2005 for her finest scientific effort.
She has performed a lot of laparoscopic surgery, ovum pick-up, ICSI, and other procedures. She holds a PhD in insulin resistance in PCOS from the University of Dhaka that she earned in 2014. Her research interests include the connection between insulin resistance and weight gain and reproductive issues. She has successfully put into practice a variety of regimens that have helped PCOS patients resume ovulation quite well.

Best Fertility Specialist Award 2008 from Deshpremi Cultural Foundation

Lifetime achievement for extensive service in infertility from Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society, Bangladesh in 2016.

Rose of Paracelsus Award 2017 the symbol of exemplary medical practice– ‘Excellence in Quality, 2017 from European Business and Medical Association.
